Bedroom where Pauline Hanna slept alone the focus of inquest into her death

An inquest into Pauline Hanna's death is focusing on the bedroom she slept alone in.

Police found bed sheets missing from Hanna's room in a washing machine while searching the couple's Remuera home, along with women's clothing and an acrylic nail.

At the coroner's court in Auckland on Friday, forensic scientist Fiona Matheson confirmed to Polkinghorne's lawyer, Ron Mansfield, nothing significant was found on those items.

"Nothing of any direct relevance to us was collected from the washer or the dryer other than perhaps the toenail and/or the nature of the clothing that was in them, correct? Yes."

A blood stain belonging to Polkinghorne was found on Hanna's bed, but Matheson said it was unclear if it was fresh.
