ChatGPT could soon let you easily create and use custom WhatsApp stickers

  • ChatGPT could soon get a “Stickers” feature.
  • It will let users create custom stickers and directly export them to WhatsApp.
  • The feature could also let users create custom stickers for other chat apps.

If you love using stickers in your WhatsApp chats, ChatGPT is working on a new feature that could prove to be extremely useful. ChatGPT users have long relied on the AI chatbot to create stickers for WhatsApp and other chat apps. However, the process is entirely manual: prompt ChatGPT to create the stickers, download them, crop them, and import them into WhatsApp. It works, but it’s not easy or efficient.

While digging through the latest version of the ChatGPT app (v1.2026.216), we found evidence that OpenAI is working on a new feature aimed specifically at creating stickers for apps like WhatsApp. There are a bunch of new strings in the app’s code:

  • ChatGPT Stickers
  • Add to chat apps
  • Add to WhatsApp
  • WhatsApp (3 minimum)
  • Couldn’t add stickers to WhatsApp
  • Download stickers

The feature itself is named “ChatGPT Stickers” and will offer users the option to add stickers to chat apps. However, it currently seems only to support WhatsApp. Users can tap the “Add to WhatsApp” option to add their created stickers to WhatsApp as a custom sticker pack.

The app will also require users to create at least three stickers to add them to WhatsApp. That’s not a limitation on ChatGPT’s end, though; instead, WhatsApp’s documentation specifies that a sticker pack must contain a minimum of three and a maximum of 30 stickers.

We also spotted the following code within the ChatGPT app:

<action android:name="com.whatsapp.intent.action.ENABLE_STICKER_PACK">This is an Android intent action used by third-party apps to send stickers to WhatsApp. It offers further evidence that ChatGPT is working on exporting stickers to WhatsApp.

The feature isn’t available yet, and it’s unclear how long it will take for ChatGPT developers to get it ready for rollout. Hopefully, it will happen sooner rather than later.
