The southbound off ramp at Mackay's Crossing on the Kāpiti Coast north of Wellington has now reopened after a crash on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash near the eastern end of Whareroa Road at 5.13am.

Fire and Emergency said firefighters used cutting gear to help remove one person from the vehicle.

A police spokesperson said one person suffered moderate to serious injuries while up to three other people suffered moderate injuries.
