A fun first theater experience: Peppa Pig Fun Day Out! takes kids on a colorful adventure

For over 20 years, Peppa Pig has brought cheer and laughs to children around the world.

Known for her jolly personality and adorable oinks, the titular character goes on fun adventures with her family and best friends, with each episode sharing valuable lessons for its preschool audience. Even parents could learn a thing or two from the cartoon animals.

Peppa Pig craze

The Philippines is no exception to the Peppa Pig craze. For a limited three-day run from August 7 to 9, the Peppa Pig Fun Day Out! at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell Center Makati brings the animated series to life on stage.

Featuring life-sized puppets of Peppa, George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, and the rest of Peppa’s friends, this interactive live stage show showcases the characters’ adventures, like playing in the backyard and a trip to the beach. It’s designed to engage kids and families through song and dance numbers and playful storytelling paired with captivating staging.

“It’s not every day that kids get to go to a theater to watch a stage play. Peppa Pig Fun Day Out! will likely be many kids’ first theater show, so we wanted to make it memorable,” said Blake Tatroe, head of APAC for Proactiv Entertainment. The Philippines is part of the show’s Asian stops, which also include Hong Kong and Singapore.

A home staple

Alongside Peppa and the gang is their friend Daisy, played by British actress and dancer Erin Kelly. With her background in choreography, Kelly has had experience working with kids through workshops and other productions.

With Peppa Pig Fun Day Out!, she wants to give her young Filipino audience a fun time, encouraging them to dance and sing along.

“It’s my first time in the Philippines. It’s incredible that Peppa Pig is like a home staple for a lot of families here,” Kelly said. “If they haven’t met Peppa Pig in person before, now is their chance to come while she’s in town.”

Peppa Pig Fun Day Out! at the Proscenium Theater makes family time more exciting with Daisy’s interactions with the characters and the audience, as well as the vibrant stage design for each adventure. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance for kids to see their favorite characters up close, and feel like they’re in the show too.
