LUCENA CITY — Giant clams (Tridacna gigas) seeded in the municipal waters off Lian and Nasugbu in Batangas province more than a decade ago continue to survive and thrive in protected marine areas. In a report on Friday, Aug. 7, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Calabarzon said giant clams planted in 2015 and 2016 in locally managed marine sanctuaries and protected areas in the two municipalities remain healthy.
