Awra Briguela laments continued bashing over 2023 bar brawl

Awra Briguela opened up about the persistent bashing she continues to face over her involvement in a Makati bar brawl in 2023, lamenting how people still bring up the incident despite her having already taken accountability for her actions.

It can be recalled that Briguela faced criminal complaints and was briefly detained after being involved in a fistfight with a group of individuals at a bar in Makati three years ago. The cases were later dismissed.

The actress spoke about this during a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview on Friday, Aug. 7, where she was asked about her thoughts on being one of the “most bashed” social media personalities.

Of course, sa pagkakamaling nagawa ko way back 2023. Pero after no’n, the rest [of the bashing] hindi ko na po alam kung saan nanggagaling,” she said.

Briguela underscored that she has already asked for forgiveness from the individuals affected, adding that she also issued a public apology at the time even though it was not part of their agreement. She said it took her more than a year before she completely moved on from the incident.

The actress turned emotional as she revealed she often feels like she wants to “give up” because of the intense bashing.

Briguela then disclosed her vow to stand up for herself after several years of holding back. However, she admitted that there are instances when she loses perspective and mistakes genuine concern for an attack due to her “trauma response.”

During the interview, Briguela also addressed her younger self and apologized for the things she went through that she did not deserve.

Briguela made a separate post on her Instagram page, reiterating her sentiment on the bashing directed at her. /ra
