Interventional cardiologist and KMCH senior consultant cardiologist Thomas Alexander has been conferred the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 11th annual conference of the Tamil Nadu Interventional Council (TIC 2026). The award recognises his extraordinary leadership, pioneering work with the STEMI Project in India, and over three decades of dedicated service to cardiovascular medicine, the organisers said.
Dr. Alexander has authored over 30 research papers published in leading international medical journals — The International Journal of Cardiology andthe British Medical Journal (BMJ), and Paediatric Cardiology. Dr. Alexander is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the Indian College of Cardiology (FICC), and the Cardiological Society of India (FCSI). His recognition at TIC 2026 reaffirms his lifelong commitment to improving cardiac healthcare access and outcomes across India.
