A vessel was struck by an unknown projectile about 18 nautical miles off the coast of Khasab, Oman, the UK Maritime Trade Operations centre said, citing a verified source.

The projectile caused a fire that was later extinguished, UKMTO said.

The vessel and all crew members were reported safe, with authorities continuing to assess the incident.
