Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this on television, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
Demchenko said that Ukrainian units and the General Staff had also observed no buildup of any strike force toward the Ukrainian border on Belarusian territory. However, he added that Russian pressure on Belarus remained in place in an effort to encourage it to become more actively involved in the war against Ukraine, including through attempts to destabilize the situation along the border.
He assured that the border with Belarus was currently much better fortified than it had been in 2022.

He explained that this included engineering measures, fortifications and changes to mine and explosive barriers in the areas considered most vulnerable. He added that Belarus should understand and see what Ukraine was doing and that Ukraine did not pose a threat to Belarus. However, if Belarus decided to join the war with its own forces, it should understand what it would face.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on May 15 that new attempts by Russia to involve Belarus more deeply in the war had been detected. In May, then-Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi confirmed that the threat of a Russian offensive from Belarus was entirely real.
According to Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Ukraine has already identified 500 targets in Belarus in case Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko enters the war.
On June 19, Zelensky said that repeaters used to guide Russian strikes against the Ukrainian population had been deployed along the Belarusian border. The president stressed that the Belarusian side was capable of dismantling these systems itself and warned that if this was not done within a week, Ukraine could take appropriate action.
National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko said that the threat of enemy action from Belarus was real if Russia concentrated around 70,000 troops there. However, he added that Ukraine's Defense Forces were doing everything possible to prevent this.
