Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, stated this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Russian forces deliberately targeted the locomotive in the morning. One of the carriages was damaged. The train and locomotive crews promptly evacuated more than 250 passengers to a safe distance. Fortunately, there were no casualties. All passengers on the Sumy–Kyiv train attacked by the enemy on its way to Kyiv were promptly transported to a location from which they continued their journey," Hryhorov said.

He noted that the threat of further strikes remained in the area of the attack, and another hit occurred.

"People were moved to shelters in time, where they remained until the threat was lifted. Community transport was deployed to continue transporting the passengers, while some people continued their journey independently. Ukrzaliznytsia is working to ensure that the disruption to the schedule on this section is kept to a minimum," Hryhorov said.

As previously reported, on the morning of August 8, an enemy drone struck the locomotive of the Sumy–Kyiv train.
