Abia State Governor Alex Otti has congratulated two former governors of Anambra State, Chris Ngige and Willie Obiano, on their 74th and 71st birthdays respectively, describing them as distinguished leaders whose contributions to public service continue to inspire.
In separate goodwill messages issued on Saturday by his media aide, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti praised both men for their service to Anambra State and Nigeria, while praying for their continued good health and long life.
Ngige praised as statesman
Congratulating Mr Ngige on his 74th birthday, Mr Otti described the former Anambra governor, senator, and minister as an illustrious Nigerian whose contributions to nation-building deserve celebration.
The governor said he was delighted that Mr Ngige was celebrating the milestone in good health.

“I feel elated to celebrate my brother and friend, Senator Ngige (Onwa), as he marks his 74th birthday anniversary. I am even more elated that he is celebrating in sound health.
“Senator Ngige is an illustrious Nigerian and statesman who has distinguished himself and contributed immensely to the development of Anambra in particular, and Nigeria in general, through his service as governor, senator, and minister; hence, my conviction that he is deserving of celebration at 74,” Mr Otti said.
He further urged Ngige to remain committed to nation-building, saying his experience and knowledge remain vital to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy and improving the economic well-being of its citizens.
Obiano commended for public service
Mr Otti also felicitated with former Governor Obiano on his 71st birthday, expressing gratitude to God for preserving his life and health.
He commended Obiano’s contributions as a former bank executive and governor, expressing confidence that he would continue serving humanity.
“I wish to gladly celebrate my brother and friend, the former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano (Akpọkuọ Dike), on the occasion of his 71st birthday. It is gratifying that Chief Obiano is alive and in good health to mark this beautiful addition. This occasion gives us cause to express gratitude to God for His mercies and for the gift of life and good health to Chief Obiano. I have no doubt that the former Anambra governor will continue to dedicate himself to the service of his people and humanity,” the governor stated.

Mr Otti, on behalf of his family, the Government and the people of Abia State, wished the two former governors many more years in good health, praying that they would continue to contribute their experience and leadership to the development of Nigeria.
