Bianca Umali mum on Ruru Madrid’s viral cheating confession

Days after Ruru Madrid’s viral admission that he once cheated on girlfriend Bianca Umali, the actress appeared to brush past the controversy as she shared moments from their weekend road trip.

Umali gave a glimpse of their road trip through an Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 8, appearing as if the couple is seemingly unfazed by the noise.

“Sponty road trips are the best with the bestie!” Umali captioned her post, which featured clips of her and Madrid jamming and laughing along to songs during their trip.

The post came after Madrid’s candid revelation about cheating on Umali gained traction online. As of writing, the pair’s Instagram pages are filled with comments about the actor’s confession.

During his last guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Madrid was asked about a previous statement he made on Heart Evangelista’s game show “The People Have Spoken,” where he said that people who cheat are still capable of changing.

Madrid acknowledged that he had made a mistake early in his relationship with Umali, saying he remains grateful that she eventually gave him another chance.

“Siguro ’yon ’yong pinagpapasalamat ko kay Bianca na kahit po nagkamali ako during that time. I was 20 years old at hindi ko naman po sinasabing dahilan ’yong pagka bata sa ginawa kong pagkakamali, pero siguro itinuturing ko rin siyang blessing in disguise somehow,” he said.

The actor said their temporary breakup made him realize Umali’s importance in his life.

“Dahil from there, nakita ko po talaga ang kahalagahan ni Bianca. Nag-break kami ng 8 months but now 8 years na po kami. Tinanggap niya ako ulit,” he said. “Kasi ang Diyos nga natin marunong magpatawad. At ’yong cheating choice talaga siya.”

Madrid and Umali began dating in 2018, although they only confirmed their relationship to the public in 2022.

Meanwhile, Madrid’s confession also prompted netizens to revisit a 2021 episode of “Figure It Out” featuring Gabbi Garcia and her boyfriend Khalil Ramos.

Garcia and Madrid previously dated. In the resurfaced episode, the actress opened up about a past relationship in which she said she was cheated on.

“I was heartbroken because of the other girls. I was put in that place and so, I became super selosa. That was my toxic trait before,” Garcia said.

“It was partly his fault why I was like that but it’s still me, and it’s how I managed my emotions. I allowed myself to be toxic and he was toxic, too,” she added.

While Garcia did not name Madrid in her remarks, it prompted some netizens to speculate that he might be referring to the actor, especially after his recent cheating admission.

As of writing, Umali and Garcia have not publicly commented on Madrid’s viral confession. /edv
