Four flights have been cancelled and a further three have been delayed, due to fog enveloping Auckland Airport.

An airport spokesperson says a further nine flights into Auckland have been cancelled.

All 16 flights are domestic while international flights have not been affected.

On Monday at least 14 flights were cancelled and another 17 were delayed due to fog restrictions.

Flights were also affected by fog last week.
