SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur—A family of four was rescued from rising floodwaters on Sunday amid continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.” Police officers from the San Ildefonso Municipal Police Station, along with personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, carried out the rescue operation in Barangay Poblacion East. The two adults and two minors were safely brought to the San Ildefonso Municipal Evacuation Center and received medical attention from personnel of the town’s Rural Health Unit. (Kenneth P.
