Chartered accountants (CAs) must equip themselves with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing, digital finance and data analytics to contribute effectively to the visions of Viksit Bharat@2047 and Swarna Andhra Pradesh@2047, said Twenty Points Programme (Viksit Bharat–Swarna Andhra Pradesh) Implementation Chairman Lanka Dinakar
Addressing the closing ceremony of the 58th two-day conference of the South Indian Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in Vijayawada on Saturday, Mr. Dinakar said CAs had a crucial role in translating the development visions of the Centre and State governments into tangible outcomes. “The future chartered accountant cannot remain confined to traditional accounting and taxation practices,” he said, stressing the need to adopt new technologies while upholding professional ethics and public trust.
He said that the profession had evolved beyond accounting, auditing and taxation, with CAs serving as custodians of financial discipline, transparency, accountability and good governance. Their expertise could strengthen financial governance in government institutions, industries, MSMEs, start-ups, cooperatives and social-sector organisations, he said.
Mr. Dinakar said CAs could contribute to Viksit Bharat by promoting business formalisation, corporate governance, tax compliance and responsible investments, besides mentoring MSMEs and start-ups. In Andhra Pradesh, he said the CA fraternity could support the State’s economic transformation by promoting ease of doing business, compliance and investment, while helping entrepreneurs, investors and emerging industries improve financial accountability and resource utilisation.
The conference featured sessions on AI and quantum computing in audit, income tax, GST, foreign investment and FCRA. Mr. Dinakar appreciated ICAI-SIRC Chairman Muppala Subba Rao, other office-bearers, branch chairmen and volunteers for organising the event.
