Refat Chubarov, chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Yesterday and today, we received separate reports of illegal raids by Russian security forces on the homes of Crimean Tatars in several settlements in northern Crimea, as well as searches and detentions at a mosque in one of the settlements on the southern coast of Crimea," Chubarov said.

He urged people directly affected by the raids not to remain silent about such incidents and to report violations committed against them and their relatives.

"Know this: as long as you remain silent about the lawlessness committed against you and your loved ones, you remain extremely vulnerable. The Russian occupation authorities in Crimea fear the exposure of the crimes they have committed," Chubarov added.

As reported, Russia's occupation of Crimea has created unprecedented threats to the survival of the peninsula's indigenous peoples.
