Crash in Birkdale, Auckland leaves person critically injured

A crash in the Auckland suburb of Birkdale is causing delays for motorists.

The crash, between a vehicle and pedestrian on Verran Road, was reported to police at about 9.20am.

One person has received critical injuries.

Emergency services are at the scene and motorists are asked to avoid the area or follow diversions.
