Sara Duterte impeachment trial postponed, Senate shifts to WFH amid rains
MANILA, Philippines — The impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte has been postponed by the Senate, which has shifted to a work-from-home arrangement on Monday.
The Senate move came amid continued heavy rains brought about by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
“The Senate will be under WFH setup today. No trial and session today as well,” Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian told reporters.
The Senate’s work-from-home arrangement comes after Malacañang issued Memorandum Circular No. 123 directing government offices in Metro Manila and several provinces to implement work-from-home arrangements on Aug. 10 due to continued heavy rainfall from the southwest monsoon. /apl
