Fuel price rollback set Aug. 11; gasoline prices to drop by up to P4.88/liter
CEBU CITY, Philippines – Motorists can expect a fresh round of pump price rollbacks this week, with oil companies expected to implement decreases across all fuel products for the period August 11 to 17, 2026.
Gasoline products — RON 97, RON 95, and RON 91 — are expected to drop by a minimum of P4.70 per liter, according to the latest monitoring from the Department of Energy (DOE).
Diesel and Diesel Plus are seen decreasing by at least P4.30 per liter, while kerosene is projected to post the steepest cut among all products at P4.88 per liter.

This is the second consecutive week of rollback, with energy stakeholders attributing it to cooling tensions in the Middle East.

But on Sunday (American time), Iran’s Revolutionary Guards insisted that they would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until the United States complied with a list of demands, including paying compensation for war damage.

Iran’s effective blockade of the crucial energy conduit has rattled allies, roiled markets and driven up prices.
US President Donald Trump, however, said that he was “low-keying it” in his approach to Tehran, suggesting he believed he could wait them out economically.
The strait’s blockage by Iran since the war started has sent fuel prices soaring and rattled the world economy, putting pressure on the Trump administration as midterm elections in November grow nearer.
