BAGUIO CITY — Four passengers survived after an Elf truck carrying a load of chayote overturned and plunged into a ravine while traversing a waterlogged and rocky road in Benguet on Sunday (August 9). The truck was transporting chayote from Belong at Barangay Ambassador in the farming town of Tublay to the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC) in Benguet Capital, La Trinidad, when it had difficulty proceeding uphill of a stony portion of the road that was inundated by strong runoff rainwater, according to the Tublay government account.
