SOFIA, August 10. /TASS/. Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova held a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador Olesya Ilashchuk regarding the incursion of a drone used by the Ukrainian military into Bulgarian airspace in the Kardam area and voiced "serious concern" over the incident, the Bulgarian foreign ministry reported.

"During the conversation, Minister Petrova expressed the serious concern of the Bulgarian side and emphasized that any unauthorized intrusion into Bulgarian airspace is unacceptable. The Bulgarian side demanded that Ukraine provide all available information that could contribute to a full clarification of the incident," the statement reads.

The top Bulgarian diplomat also noted that Bulgaria needs to take steps to prevent such incidents in the future, emphasizing the need for direct and effective communication channels between the relevant authorities of the two countries.

On August 8, a UAV, preliminarily identified as a Maya decoy drone used by the Ukrainian military, exploded on Bulgarian territory near the border with Romania. There were no casualties or damage reported. In connection with the incident, additional measures were taken in the country to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure.
