Kerala’s first Digital Square for primary school students was opened at the Kumbla GSB School as part of the State government’s 100-day action programme. The project is aimed at strengthening IT learning, bridging the digital divide among children, and promoting healthy digital browsing habits.

Education Minister N. Shamsudheen inaugurated the Digital Square implemented under KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education). The initiative seeks to make digital device tools for self-learning while ensuring more effective IT education at the primary level.

The model Digital Square at GSB School, Kumbla, is equipped with laptops and seating facilities and decorated with colourful wall paintings to create an attractive learning environment. The facility was arranged by the school’s PTA and teachers.

The Minister also inaugurated a new building at the school. It was constructed at a cost of ₹3.90 crore under a KIIFB-KILA project.

A.K.M. Ashraf and Kallatra Mahin Haji, MLAs, district panchayat president Sabu Abraham, other public representatives and officials were present.
