Mera Yuva Bharat (MYBharat), Anantapur, in coordination with the JNTUA NSS cell, NSS unit of SRIT College, and Indian Red Cross Society, Anantapur, organised a ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ programme at the SRIT College auditorium on Monday.

As part of the programme, various competitions, including quiz, painting, photography and slogan writing were conducted to create awareness among students and youth on cleanliness, personal hygiene, environmental responsibility and the importance of maintaining clean surroundings. College students, NSS volunteers and youth participated in the competitions.

The programme was attended by NSS coordinator G. Mamatha, SRIT College principal G. Balakrishna, Deputy Tahsildar S. Gopinath, MY Bharat coordinator Bisathi Bharath, NSS programme officers T. Aravind and Lakshmi Narayana, and others.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries emphasised that cleanliness should become an integral part of everyday life and called upon citizens, particularly youth, to take greater responsibility for maintaining clean and healthy surroundings. They highlighted that cleanliness was fundamental to building a healthy and progressive society and encouraged young people to lead community-level cleanliness initiatives.

Participants also took the Swachh Bharat pledge and reaffirmed their commitment to cleanliness and civic responsibility. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions, while certificates of appreciation were presented to all participants.

NSS volunteers, college students and a large number of youth participated in the programme.
