Peter “Mr P” Okoye has recorded significant growth across his music, social media and fashion platforms amid a wave of public support over the renewed P-Square family feud.
The 44-year-old singer has crossed one million subscribers on YouTube, surpassed 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time in his solo career, and said nearly 3,000 units of his Red ZR cap were sold within seven days.
The milestones come as Mr P releases an eight-part tell-all series detailing his account of P-Square’s history and the disputes involving his twin brother, Paul, and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
In the series, Peter has made several allegations concerning the group’s finances and management, his relationship with his brothers and the treatment of his wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, and their son.

Jude and Paul have disputed some of his claims and presented their own accounts of the disagreements.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that the videos triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many users declaring support for Peter and urging others to stream his songs, subscribe to his YouTube channel and patronise his businesses.
Some supporters also launched a campaign to increase Mr P’s YouTube subscriber count beyond Paul’s, which stood at about 2.17 million when this newspaper previously checked.
YouTube, Spotify growth
Mr P had 777,000 YouTube subscribers amid the renewed feud. His subscriber count has since risen to 1.02 million, representing an increase of about 243,000.
His recently released song, “I Can’t Look Away”, has also been viewed 3.7 million times on YouTube.
On Spotify, Album Talks announced on its social media pages on Sunday that Mr P had reached 500,000 monthly listeners for the first time in his solo career.
“Mr P (Peter Psquare) surpasses 500k monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time,” it wrote.
Although this newspaper could not independently establish how many Instagram followers Mr P had before he began releasing the tell-all series, he currently has 12.1 million followers on the platform.
Red ZR cap
The wave of attention has also extended to Zipp Republic, the lifestyle and streetwear brand founded by Mr P.
The singer said on X on Sunday that nearly 3,000 units of the red ZR snapback cap he has worn during his ongoing tell-all series were sold within seven days.
“Guys, we honestly didn’t see this coming. Almost 3,000 Red ZR CAPS sold in the last 7 days, and more orders are still pouring in every second, ZippRepublic.
“We are overwhelmed with orders right now, so please be a little patient with us. We promise every single order will be delivered asap,” he wrote.
Mr P thanked his fans for their support and disclosed plans to expand Zipp Republic’s product range to include gym wear, sportswear, and children’s clothing.
The Red ZR Snapback Hat currently sells for ₦20,000 on the brand’s official store, down from its original price of ₦45,000.
The sales figure, however, was disclosed by Mr P and could not be independently verified by this newspaper.
P-Square feud
Peter and Paul formed P-Square and became one of Africa’s most successful music duos before their first split in 2017.
The twins reconciled in 2021 but separated again in 2024 following renewed disagreements over the group’s finances and management.
The dispute subsequently led to an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and a court case involving Jude, who has denied wrongdoing.
Peter later testified as a prosecution witness in the case, while Paul publicly defended Jude.
The family dispute resurfaced prominently after Peter began releasing his tell-all series, making fresh allegations about the circumstances surrounding P-Square’s breakups and the brothers’ financial dealings.
Jude has since responded publicly, rejecting allegations of financial misconduct and accusing Peter of distorting the facts surrounding P-Square’s finances and their family disagreements.
The feud widened further after another of the Okoye brothers, Henry, publicly weighed in on the dispute.
PREMIUM TIMES earlier reported that Henry accused Jude of contributing to the divisions within the family and alleged that he had sponsored Peter and Paul during the early stages of their music career before Jude became involved in managing the group.
Despite the accusations, Henry said he wanted the family reconciled and urged Jude to help bring Peter and Paul back together.
