Brooklyn Beckham has once again stirred controversy by quietly reposting a year-old cooking video that proved divisive when he first shared it.

The aspiring chef, 27, initially sparked backlash in July 2025 with the clip, which was used to promote his Cloud23 hot sauce.

Resharing the post on TikTok last week, he tagged his hot sauce brand in the caption and began the video explaining that he was going to make tomato pasta. It then cut to a clip of him standing at the back of a luxury yacht, scooping water seemingly from the ocean into a big pot.

Beckham then brought the pot back onto the yacht, using it to boil spaghetti. The online food and wine influencer chopped up a bunch of tomatoes and added them to an oiled pan, which he then lathered in his signature Cloud23 hot sauce. While the meal itself looked perfectly edible, the fact that he used seawater to cook the pasta sparked outrage among many of his followers, just as it had the first time around.

“Today I’m gonna make a fool of myself on the internet again,” someone commented beneath the new post.

“There’s no way this is serious,” a second insisted, as a third argued, “He just rage baiting at this point.”

“Isn’t the ocean water dirty?” a fourth questioned, while another similarly asked whether it was “safe to just boil up seawater straight from the sea?”

According to research, a single drop of seawater can contain around 1 million bacteria. Around 10,000 of these are called vibrios and have been found responsible for 95 percent of seafood-related deaths.

It’s unclear if Beckham actually used the seawater to cook the pasta or if he dumped it out and used different water.

The Independent has contacted Beckham’s representative for comment.

Beckham, the eldest son of retired soccer star David Beckham and Spice Girls singer Victoria Beckham, began sharing his cooking journey online in December 2021 with the launch of his Cookin’ With Brooklyn Facebook series. Although the channel ended in February 2022, Beckham continues to share cooking tutorials and videos on social media.

The cooking video repost arrived the same day as his anniversary with wife Nicola Peltz. Beckham marked their anniversary by sharing two pictures on Instagram: one of him with his arm around Peltz in front of a golf cart and the other of them hugging.

“Happy anniversary Nicola I can’t tell you how much I love you,” he wrote in the caption. “You are my best friend and I love you more than life itself xx I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife xx you are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you xx.”

Beckham has made headlines in recent months for publicly accusing his parents of trying to sabotage his marriage and prioritizing public branding over their family relationships.

David and Victoria have not yet directly addressed his claims, though the latter cryptically responded to a question about the ongoing family feud, telling The Wall Street Journal in April, “I think that we’ve always — we love our children so much.

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” she added. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”
