According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
“A report of the fire came from the head of the coordination center: The fire had engulfed about 1 hectare of forest and, due to gusts of wind and high temperatures, could have spread toward the settlement,” the statement reads.
Forces from a combined unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine were deployed to extinguish the fire. Six water tankers were used, and ground units received aerial support from three French aircraft: two planes and a helicopter.
“Thanks to the prompt response of Ukrainian rescue workers and the support of the air force, the fire was successfully extinguished. The fire was prevented from spreading deeper into the forest or toward the settlement,” the State Emergency Service noted.
