MANILA, Philippines — Sea trips in Mimaropa and other parts of the country were canceled on Tuesday morning (Aug. 11), due to the effects of the southwest monsoon, according to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA). As of 8 a.m., the PPA reported canceled trips at ports in Mindoro, Palawan, Batangas, Marinduque, Quezon, Masbate, Panay-Guimaras and Western Leyte-Biliran. In Mindoro, canceled trips included those from the Port of Batangas to Abra de Ilog, Puerto Galera and Calapan, as well as trips between San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, and Semirara.
