MANILA, Philippines — The Marikina River returned to normal levels Tuesday morning as the southwest monsoon, or habagat, is expected to weaken in the coming days, according to the Marikina Public Information Office (PIO). In its latest update, Marikina PIO said the water level dropped to 14.8 meters as of 7:20 a.m., below the 15-meter threshold for the first alarm. The river was still under second alarm at 5 p.m. Monday, when its water level stood at 16.3 meters.
