SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's gaming giant NC Corp. on Tuesday reported a second-quarter net profit of 131.2 billion won (US$92.8 million), swinging from a loss of 36 billion won a year earlier.

Operating profit for the April-June period was 173.9 billion won, up 1,053 percent from a year ago, the video game developer and publisher said in a regulatory filing.

Revenue also jumped 101.5 percent to 770.5 billion won.

By country, sales from South Korea accounted for 48 percent, while those from Asia came to 25 percent, and North America and Europe 27 percent.

More than half of total sales came from outside of South Korea, with the proportion of sales coming from overseas growing for four consecutive quarters, the game publisher explained.

By business, sales from its PC games division marked the highest on record, thanks to the success of its flagship MMORPG game Lineage Classic.

Revenue from its mobile game division rose slightly to 185.3 billion won, while sales from its mobile casual unit, which accounted for 22 percent of total sales, was 169.7 billion won.

NC said it plans to take part in Gamescom 2026, one of the world's major game conventions, set to take place later this month in Cologne, Germany, and unveil its new global game lineup.
