Britain is set to witness one of its deepest solar eclipses in decades.

Look up to the skies on Wednesday evening and you could be in for a spectacular sight.

On August 12, the Moon will pass directly in front of the Sun, blocking out up to 96 per cent of its light in parts of the UK. It will be the deepest solar eclipse visible from Britain until 2050.

The eclipse will begin shortly after 6pm, with the exact timings depending on where you are in the country.
