Russia is preparing false-flag provocations targeting NATO countries in an attempt to undermine allied trust in Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, stated this on Telegram.

"Russia is preparing false-flag provocations against NATO countries. In particular, it may use drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to carry out attacks against the Baltic states as well as provocations against Poland in order to undermine trust in Ukraine," Kovalenko wrote.

He added that Russia's Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) is responsible for planning these operations, while the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) may also be involved.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that Russia could be preparing provocations against Poland using captured Ukrainian drones.
