Tamil superstar Suriya who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming family drama âVishwanath and Sonsâ, recently shared about his familyâs life in Mumbai and why enjoys staying there. The actor and his wife

Jyotika moved to Mumbai with their children, Diya and Dev, during the pandemic which was partly to keep Jyotika closer to her parents, who live in Mumbai and also helped her work on her Bollywood career again.

Suriya talks about Mumbai home

During a promotional interview with anchor Suma, Suriya spoke about how much he enjoys living in their Mumbai home. He said that the smaller house gives him more comfort than the luxury bungalow they had in Chennai.

Suriya loves his smaller house

Suriya explained why he enjoys his 1,700 sq ft Mumbai home. He said, âMumbai is almost like a holiday for me. I work here (Chennai), then I go for a holiday there. Itâs a smaller house. We stay in a 1700 sq ft house. So, two steps bedroom, two steps living room, two steps kitchen, two steps dining area. Itâs a nice, cosy house, which gives us a lot of comfort.â

He also said that the home is filled with memories and warmth. Suriya added, âA lot of memories, a lot of warmth.

Itâs a lot of love everywhere. I can immediately call Diya or Dev; thereâs just one step away. Not many people know what we do there, so itâs nice.â

Suriya says Jyotikaâs parents were priority

Suriya also shared that moving to Mumbai was mainly about Jyotikaâs parents. He said, âShe has not gone to Russia or Japan. She has gone to her ownâ¦her motherâs place. The main priority was, of course, for her parents. But also, work is happening there simultaneously.â

Suriya and Jyotika got married on September 11, 2006, in Chennai after being in a relationship for several years. They welcomed their daughter Diya in 2007 and son Dev in 2010.

âVishwanath and Sonsâ work front

On the professional side, he will next be seen in âVishwanath and Sonsâ. The film is directed by Venky Atluri and also features Mamitha Baiju and Radhika Sarathkumar in important roles.

The film is set to release in theatres on August 14.
