Purple gourds are just like your typical red gourds in Big Walk. They're earned as rewards from puzzles, and they can be used to complete towers. The only difference is that they're a different color, and their respective puzzles are more advanced versions of other puzzles.
You might accidentally run into them after you unlock the ski lift and you won't see them on your 3D map at first, but you can still complete them whenever you'd like. However, we recommend saving them for last, because you'll have a better idea of how to solve them.
Here's where to find every purple gourd puzzle in Big Walk and how to solve them.

All purple gourd puzzles in Big Walk
There are seven purple gourd puzzles in Big Walk, and they're all located in the southern section of the map. To get to them, you can either complete the green tower and take the chair lift to the south, or walk around the southeastern coast of the island.
These seven puzzles are more difficult versions of other puzzles found around the map:

Below, we describe how to solve every purple gourd puzzle, but we recommend solving their easier versions which can be found in these locations:

The timer puzzle can be found to the**east of the blue tower**, along the beach. -
The golf puzzle is located on a hill to the **east of the red tower**. -
The button location puzzle is located **northeast of the yellow tower**, along the train tracks. -
The speaker puzzle is found in the **northwest corner of the map.** -
The posing puzzle is found in the **northeast corner of the map**. -
The obstacle course puzzle is found **southeast of the blue tower**. -
The symbol sign puzzle is just **east of the blue tower**.
How to solve the purple gourd timer puzzle in Big Walk
The timer puzzle is just like its easier alternative, except this time you have to wait for 30 minutes rather than five. This is a great time to go grab a bite to eat or just catch up with your friends.
How to solve the purple gourd golf puzzle in Big Walk
Luckily, the solution to the purple gourd version of the golf puzzle is the same as the red gourd version of the golf puzzle — you have to carry the heavy ball to the hole. Unfortunately, you have to carry that very same heavy ball all the way to this new hole.
We personally recommend following the path that we've marked on the map above, but you will need to turn on the chair lift and unlock the tunnels. Take the heavy ball south, and then head east up to the top of the hill. When you can see the blue spiral building ahead of you, turn to the left to see the chair lift going over a large rock. Climb to the top of the rock and ride the ski lift south to the mountain with the purple gourd. Carefully get off the lift and go through the purple tunnel down the hill. Lastly, turn to the right, go up the hill, and place the ball in the hole.
How to solve the purple gourd button location puzzle in Big Walk
The button location puzzle is the challenge where there are two rooms: one full of lights and one full of buttons. For two players, you had to describe the location of the light to your partner. For groups of three or more, the other players had to receive your direction at a window and relay them.
For the purple gourd version of this puzzle, the rooms themselves are the same, but now there are no windows where you can communicate. Instead, the person with the buttons has an intercom and a light bulb, while the person with the lights has a button that will turn on the light bulb. The person with the buttons has to then ask questions to find out the light's placement, and the person with the light has to respond through the light bulb. In our playthrough, we would ask questions like, "is it on the wall straight ahead of us?" and "is it on the floor?" Meanwhile, we would turn on the light bulb once for yes or twice for no.
How to solve the purple gourd speaker puzzle in Big Walk
The purple gourd version of the speaker puzzle is just like the red gourd version, except this time there is no intercom. You need to find out how to describe the noise from the speaker using just gestures.
We solved this puzzle by tapping the beat on the window and sliding our hand across the glass, with our hand going up or down depending on the pitch.
How to solve the purple gourd posing puzzle in Big Walk
The purple gourd version of the posing puzzle swaps out the signs with your usual gestures for signs with symbols. Now you must depict spiral, snowman, lowercase e, and all the other symbols using your hands.
An easy way to solve this is to draw the symbol on the windows using your hands.
How to solve the purple gourd obstacle course puzzle in Big Walk
The obstacle course itself is exactly the same in the difficult version, but now the tomato timer is waiting for you at the very beginning.
How to solve the purple gourd symbol sign puzzle in Big Walk
In most puzzles involving signs, there are only nine options to choose from. However, in this puzzle, there are 36 different signs, and some of them are very similar. This puzzle will put your communication skills to the test as you must clearly describe these abstract symbols.
