PBA: Ganuelas-Rosser rues DeQuan Jones injury after their collision

ANTIPOLO—TNT’s Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser expressed regret over the gruesome leg injury sustained by NLEX import DeQuan Jones during their 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup game on Tuesday here.

Jones left in the third quarter after going for a basket and getting entangled with Ganuelas-Rosser, who fell into the Road Warriors reinforcement’s leg, leaving everyone inside Ynares Center stunned.

Ganuelas-Rosser was said to be emotional after Jones’ injury, and was later comforted by NLEX’s Kevin Alas after TNT’s 118-111 overtime defeat.

“You don’t want to be labeled like a dirty player or that I did that on purpose,” Ganuelas-Rosser said. “He’s someone that I look up to, and he’s something that I have nothing but admiration for. And I don’t want anything like that to happen.”

Ganuelas-Rosser recalled that he and Jones had crossed paths on the eve of the game and briefly talked, adding that the NLEX import was known for being friendly off the court.

“DeQuan’s a nice import, good person so I’m just hoping for the best,” said the TNT center. “It’s part of the game, but it’s hard for that to happen.”

Despite being shaken by the incident, Ganuelas-Rosser was able to contribute on both ends for the Tropang 5G, even scoring a basket that extended their lead to 102-97 with 1:23 to go.

But NLEX found a way to force the game into overtime, with Robert Bolick firing a four-point shot that equaled the score at 107-all late in regulation.

Ganuelas-Rosser also played through an ankle injury, the same ailment he dealt with during the Commissioner’s Cup Finals against Barangay Ginebra in June.

“Just trying to win the game, just trying to execute,” he said.
