To coincide with the upcoming release of Marvel's Wolverine, Sony has announced limited-edition console bundles and accessories themed around Insomniac's next superhero game. These will be released on the same day as the game: Sept. 15.

Sony revealed the latest themed bundle on the PlayStation Blog. The Marvel's Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition bundle will include a snazzy PS5 Digital Edition painted the same color as Logan's iconic uniform, with a portrait of the character and a claw slash along the side as if Wolverine had something against your console. The bundle comes with a code for the game and a DualSense controller with a matching design. The entire bundle will cost $649.99 (the standard digital PS5 currently costs $599.99) with the controller available for standalone purchase for $84.99. Pre-orders go live on Aug. 19 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

If you don't want to purchase an entirely new console to get in on the festivities, then good news. Sony also announced it will be selling PS5 and PS5 Pro compatible covers. This includes covers for consoles with disc drives. PS5 Pro owners will be able to purchase the exclusive Adamantium Limited Edition covers that swap out the yellow color palette for a sleeker silver to emulate Wolverine’s metallic skeleton and claws. Though this is supposed to give the illusion that the console is made of Adamantium as well, I'm not sure how Wolverine would leave claw marks on it. I'm reading too much into tie-in merchandise. All covers will cost $74.99.

To make sure you don't have to use your Adamantium PS5 with the clashing yellow DualSense, Sony is offering an Adamantium Limited Edition controller. It has the same design as the yellow controller, but in silver. It will be available for $84.99. While this is yet another exciting announcement in the lead-up to Marvel's Wolverine, fan backlash to Sony's announcement that it will be ending physical disc production in 2028 continues to follow the company. The responses to the bundle's announcement on social media consist mostly of people lamenting the move to a digital future.
