For most people, only an internet connection is required to get all the entertainment you need. Now, while Netflix, Disney+, and similar streaming services get the bulk of the attention, free services like Google TV Freeplay are also starting to become more popular. Not only does Freeplay provide access to hundreds of livestreaming channels, but Google is now adding VOD TV shows and movies to its lineup.

Just what we need

The brand announced that it would be adding 10,000+ VOD TV shows and movies to its Google TV Freeplay service, making this a huge addition to an already large catalog of entertainment. If that wasn't enough, the brand is also expanding its "TV lineup to include more than 300 free live channels."

Livestreaming services are a fantastic way to watch TV shows and movies. However, you're always at the mercy of what's on the schedule. If you missed out on the first ten minutes, you're out of luck. It's basically live TV but streaming on the internet. Now, there's nothing wrong with that, but having a touch more control isn't a bad thing.

That's where the VOD service comes in, offering a way to start up TV shows and movies whenever you'd like. Google isn't exactly outlining its full lineup of content, but it did highlight that there would be some gems from popular studios like A24 and Lionsgate. Furthermore, the brand also highlighted shows like "Hell's Kitchen," "Seventeen Again," and "Lady Bird."

Google also pointed out that it would be "refreshing" its library all year long. So, you can expect things to come and go throughout the year. Hopefully, the brand can bring some TV and movie classics in during the holidays. As far as the livestreaming channels, Google doesn't provide a full list of new channels, but provides some standouts, like "World of Love Island, Bloomberg TV+, Yahoo! Sports Network, and The Martha Stewart Channel."

Regardless, with over 300 channels to watch, we're sure that most people will be able to find something.
