OPM alternative rock band TEETH is back on the scene with an anniversary concert tour, 33 years after the band was formed.

Titled ‘Year 33: TEETH The Reunion – Legacy Tour,’ the concert will take place in five cities, kicking off in Singapore on August 30, 2026. The tour will then make its way throughout the Philippines, with stops in Manila, Davao, Iloilo, and Cebu.

The band, composed of members Glenn Jacinto (vocals), Jerome Velasco (guitar), Dok Sergio (guitar), Pedz Narvaja (bass), and Mike Dizon (drums), will take the stage together after taking a break to pursue their respective personal lives.

“I am very excited, of course. I am in the States right now and syempre, excited ako umuwi sa Philippines,” Jacinto said during an online media roundtable on August 10. “Then we have shows and have a sold-out record.”

Aside from the reunion tour, the band also released a limited-edition vinyl of their debut album, which was immediately sold-out days after its release. It was remastered by Shinji Tanaka.

According to Dizon, the main reason why they will do a reunion tour is because they want to play their old songs and celebrate their 33rd anniversary.

“Why 33rd? Kasi iniisip namin na this is the chance na makikita namin si Glenn, [so] ba’t pa namin hihintayin ‘yung ibang magic numbers?” he shared. “Let’s do it now habang able pa kami, buo pa, at wala pang may sakit.” 

The members also said that they aren’t pressured but only feels excitement, love and happiness for their tour.

Remains the same

Being in the music industry for three decades is already a milestone. According to TEETH, what has kept them together through the years is the friendship they have built since they were young and their natural chemistry as a band.

Jacinto shared that because they were schoolmates from kindergarten to high school and they grew up with everybody around, it helps with the longevity of their bond.

“Aside from being lifelong friends, basically mayroon kaming bond, mayroon kaming unspoken chemistry. Ang chemistry namin ay kakaiba,” Dizon said. “Kasi every time we jam as if parang kahapon lang kami huling nagkita, parang ganoon ‘yung chemistry namin as a group.

“Time just passed and we remained friends, thankfully. Siguro the reason kasi kabisado na namin ang isa’t isa,” Sergio added.

In regards to their music, the band never consciously tried to reinvent itself to chase trends. Despite the evolving generations and some new technologies, they didn’t abandon their roots.

“Tunog pa rin namin siya, ‘yung mga bago… baka nag-mature ng konti ‘yung mga songs,  but we try to be rock pa rin,” Sergio said.

For them, they have their own natural sound as a band that endured through the years.

“Parang we always go back to this kind of… meron kaming comfort zone sa tunog na pinupuntahan namin na hindi namin pinag-uusapan pero doon kami nag-e-end up and it feels really good. So ‘yun ‘yung TEETH music I think,” Dizon added.

Nostalgia and looking back

Despite remaining true to their roots, the members acknowledge their growth and maturity as musicians over the years.

The band also revealed that they have been working on new music, although the songs are yet to be completed. Still, they expressed excitement about eventually sharing them with their listeners.

However, they do not plan to heavily showcase this evolution during the reunion tour, as the concerts are primarily meant to celebrate TEETH’s established catalog and revisit the music that shaped their career.

“I don’t think we’re gonna do it sa reunion,” Dizon said. “So, purely nostalgia lang.”

**Complete together **

More than three decades later, the band said that the most rewarding part of being able to perform together is the fact that they are still complete.

“For me, most rewarding is ‘yung fact [na] kami pa rin, kaming lima we’re still… parang ‘pag may rehearsal parang wow, tight pa rin, may TEETH magic talaga, promise. So ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-rewarding.”

Jacinto added that doing the thing they are passionate about and giving joy to the people is the most rewarding thing.

TEETH is a band formed in 1993 and known for songs such as ‘Laklak,’ ‘Prinsesa,’ and ‘Shooting Star.’
