I’m state political reporter Jessica McSweeney, and along with a team of the Sydney Morning Herald’s senior writers, we’ll be bringing you all the latest news as it happens. Today we’re expecting to hear more evidence from lobbyist and political operator Jeremy Greenwood.

Before evidence begins at 10am, let’s take a look at what we covered yesterday:

• Jeremy Greenwood conceded that he commissioned a “shit sheet” on then-police minister David Elliott in a bid to discredit the former MP. One of Greenwood’s clients was the disgraced developer Jean Nassif, who is known to hate Elliott, but the lobbyist insisted the dirt sheet was done to defend Greenwood’s business.

• Commissioner Fabian Gleeson, SC, was clearly growing frustrated with Greenwood’s answers and asked the lobbyist if he had trouble understanding English words. Greenwood said he did not.

• Greenwood said he would do anything for his friend Jean-Claude Perrottet, including giving him money from his business account, and repeatedly said he could not recall any payments coming from hotelier Michael O’Hara, who had agreed to financially support the Reformers.

• The commission also heard that Greenwood took a 6am call from his friend and former business partner Christian Ellis on Tuesday, just hours after giving his first day of evidence. Greenwood said the call was over the encrypted app Signal and was just a welfare check. Ellis is also a person of interest in this inquiry but now lives in the United Kingdom and is refusing to give evidence.
