Apple TV has unveiled the first trailer for Last Seen, giving audiences a first look at its six-episode Australian thriller led by Patrick Brammall. The series follows a father whose life has remained suspended since the disappearance of his young daughter more than a decade earlier.

Brammall plays Ian Ridley, a former police detective who now works as a police dispatcher. Eleven years after his daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace, Ian has continued to believe that she could still be alive. His conviction is tested when he receives a distress call from a teenage girl whose voice he believes belongs to Maggie. The call gives him the first possible lead he has had in years and sends him on a relentless search for his daughter.

The trailer follows Ian as the investigation pulls him back into the case, with his determination putting increasing pressure on the fragile family life he has managed to maintain. The footage also hints at a mystery surrounding Maggie’s disappearance, as Ian’s search takes him deeper into a situation where the truth may carry consequences for everyone involved.

The series is based on Ryan David Jahn’s award-winning 2011 crime novel The Dispatcher. Kris Mrksa adapted the book for television and serves as writer and executive producer, while Emmy-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow directs and executive produces. The series was originally developed under the title The Dispatcher before being renamed Last Seen.

The cast alongside Brammall includes Maxine Peake, Brendan Cowell, Daniel Henshall, Jessica Wren, Zahra Newman and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes. The series was filmed entirely in Victoria, Australia, with production handled by 60Forty Films and Werner Film Productions.

Last Seen marks another dramatic turn for Brammall, who is widely known for the Australian comedy series Colin from Accounts. The actor has also appeared in The Twelve and The Devil Wears Prada 2, with the new series placing him at the centre of a considerably darker story built around grief.

Last Seen will premiere globally on September 9, 2026, with its first two episodes, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through October 7 on Apple TV.
