Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi and filmmaker Balaji Tharaneetharan are teaming up for the third time for an upcoming film titled Baththa, the makers announced on Wednesday (August 12). Presented by Atlee and produced by Priya Atlee, the film is set to release in theatres on October 1.

The makers announced a first-look poster featuring Vijay to announce the news. The poster shows the star sporting a vintage look and smoking a beedi.

The film will feature actor Lijomol Jose as the female lead. Other details regarding the plot and the rest of the cast remain unknown at the moment.

With music scored by Sai Abhyankkar, Baththa has cinematography by Selva Kumar SK and editing by R Kalaivanan. Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, Alok Jain, and Ajit Andhara produce the film under their A Cine1 Studios and A For Apple Studios banner.

Notably, Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan previously teamed up for Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Seethakaathi.
