PAGADIAN CITY — Zamboanga del Sur is making history as the country’s first provincial local government unit (LGU) to establish a Wagyu cattle breeding and upgrading program, a pioneering initiative aimed at transforming the province’s livestock industry and increasing farmers’ incomes. Gov. Divina Grace Yu said the province has allocated P26 million for the program, including the purchase of 60 Wagyu cattle, a premium Japanese breed.
