Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said this during a press conference at Ukrinform.

"According to our information, Russia is trying to create a fake image of supposedly comfortable conditions for Ukrainian prisoners of war. It wants to show the world an image suggesting that Russian captivity is almost like a sanatorium where Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilian hostages rest, receive treatment, and recover," Lubinets said.

He emphasized that since 2022, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross have not been allowed access to any facility holding Ukrainian prisoners of war on Russian territory.

According to Lubinets, Russia is using a "mirror" tactic, attempting to attribute its own methods of treating prisoners of war to Ukraine. In particular, Russian propaganda takes footage out of context and edits videos, including footage from buses after prisoner exchanges, which, under the agreements, was not supposed to be published.

"I think the whole world sees the photographs showing the condition in which Ukrainian prisoners of war return — exhausted and having lost dozens of kilograms — and the condition in which Russian prisoners of war return. Many of them have even gained extra weight while in Ukrainian captivity. But Russian propaganda shows only the moment when they enter Ukrainian captivity, as if they had been subjected to the same treatment throughout that entire period," Lubinets stressed.

As reported, as of now, the deaths of 375 Ukrainian citizens in Russian captivity have been verified — this is the number of bodies that have been returned to Ukraine.
