The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government is set to sign 97 MoUs at the Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, to be held in Chennai on Thursday, August 13, 2026. This will be the new government’s first major investment conclave.
“Investments worth over ₹67,452 crore, are expected to be signed. Once operational, these projects are expected to generate employment for around 1,06,998 people,” said a high level source in the government. The event will be presided by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
Confirming the news, Industries and Investment Promotion Minister, S. Keerthana, said: “Our government has always believed that sustainable economic growth is built on partnership, trust and execution. Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 reflects our ambition to create opportunities, generate quality employment and build industries that will define the future. We look forward to welcoming investors and business leaders from across India and the world.”
“It is a healthy mix of greenfield and brownfield investments, with more than half of the projects being greenfield. Significantly, several companies are also choosing Tamil Nadu for the first time, signalling growing investor interest in the State,” the source said. Investments will be spread across nearly 20 districts, with more than half of the projects located outside the State’s traditional industrial belt, the source added.
The conclave is also set to bring in a strong international presence, with projects from companies headquartered across more than 15 countries. Tamil Nadu has a long history of attracting global investments, with leading companies from Germany, Japan, South Korea, the U.K. and the U.S. making the state their home and building a strong industrial presence here.
With the theme, “Where Vision Becomes Victory,” the conclave will serve as a platform to showcase Tamil Nadu’s strengths across manufacturing, technology, electronics, renewable energy, mobility, aerospace, life sciences, GCCs and emerging industries. Beyond the signing of MoUs, the event will also bring government and industry leaders together for a series of discussions, interactions and potential partnerships.
