iSON Group mulls $250-M agri, solar projects in PH

MANILA, Philippines — India-based iSON Group is expanding its presence in the Philippines, planning to invest $250 million in agricultural and solar projects in addition to its ongoing $300 million telecommunications tower rollout.

iSON is considering a $50 million modern agri-farming project and a $200 million agro-solar venture with a capacity of 400 megawatts (MW), according to the Department of Finance.

These investments build on iSON’s partnership with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, collaborating on a 40-MW solar project in New Clark City and modern agriculture initiatives.

iSON chair Vivek Gupta expressed excitement about the opportunities in the Philippines and a commitment to investing significantly in the market.

Previously, iSON focused its investments in the Philippines primarily on telecommunications, announcing plans in August 2025 to invest $300 million to build 3,000 to 4,000 telecommunications towers.

Through its subsidiary, iSON Towers Ltd. Inc., the company has deployed about $65 million, roughly 22 percent of its planned investment, to fund 450 tower constructions.

iSON is also looking to expand its business process outsourcing and explore opportunities in the digital healthcare sector.

Finance Secretary Frederick Go emphasized the Department of Finance’s support for foreign investments to create better opportunities and jobs for Filipinos.
