TACLOBAN CITY — A Brahminy kite (Haliastur indus) rescued from a village in Silvino Lobos, Northern Samar, died hours after it was brought to a veterinary hospital in Catarman, ending efforts to save the injured bird and return it to the wild. The bird, locally known as “lawin” or “banog,” was discovered by Jowen Celajes in Barangay Geparayan De Turag, Silvino Lobos, on Aug. 10.
