Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Kurnool on Thursday (August 13, 2026) will be restricted to a meeting with a person lodged in the district jail, the police said on Wednesday (August 12, 2026).

In a statement, Kurnool SP Vikrant Patil said permission had been granted only for the former Chief Minister’s visit to the jail and for the accompanying convoy. No public meetings, rallies, roadshows or large gatherings would be allowed during the visit. Police arrangements have been made along the nearly 38-km route from the Orvakal airport to the jail near Panchalingala.

The SP said the police were enforcing Section 30 of the Police Act, and the movement would be monitored through video recording and CCTV cameras. Medical emergency arrangements have also been made.

Nandyal SP Sunil Shoran appealed to political leaders, representatives and party workers not to travel to Kurnool to take part in unauthorised gatherings. The police said violations of the restrictions would invite action under the applicable laws.
