The Telegram channel Crimean Wind stated this in a post, as reported by Ukrinform.

"A former military submariner was blown up on Stoletovsky Avenue in Sevastopol, according to our source. The man was walking down an outdoor staircase when an explosive device detonated nearby," the report said.

According to the report, Russian media claimed that a woman who allegedly detonated the explosive device had been detained. Preliminary information indicated that the device had been placed in a trash bin.

Later, information emerged that Robert Shageyev, a 49-year-old captain 1st Rank and former commander of the Ukrainian submarine "Zaporizhzhia," had been killed in Sevastopol. In 2014, he allegedly betrayed his oath, sided with the occupiers, and became the commander of a Russian submarine.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the submarines of the brigade in which Shageyev served have participated since 2022 in large-scale Kalibr missile strikes against Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and residential buildings.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a car exploded in Moscow, and Russian security services said they had found a "suspicious object."
