The Andhra Pradesh Agriculture Department has ensured transparent and timely distribution of fertilizers to farmers across the State through the APAIMS App-based distribution system during the ongoing kharif season, says Director of Agriculture Manazir Jeelani Samoon.

In a statement on Thursday, Dr. Samoon said a total of 15,25,319 farmers had purchased 3,07,183 tonnes of fertilizers through the App. Of these, 3,00,177 tenant farmers had procured 96,694 tonnes, accounting for 31% of the total fertilizer purchases.

Dr. Samoon said the government introduced the App-based system with the objective of ensuring that farmers faced no difficulties in obtaining fertilizers. He said the system was delivering positive results.

“The department is assessing fertilizer requirements on a crop-wise basis by taking into consideration the recommendations of agricultural scientists, data on crop cultivation and fertilizer usage during the past three years, and the current crop situation,” he said.

Distribution was being carried out through an end-to-end tracking mechanism, from the manufacturer to the end-user farmer, enabling continuous monitoring and greater transparency, the Director said.

Stating that the department had taken strict action against those selling fertilizers at higher prices and those linking the sale of other products with fertilizers, he said from April 1, 2026, to date, sale of fertilizer stocks totalling 13,364 tonnes, valued at ₹30.60 crore, had been suspended. Another 2,331 tonnes, worth ₹5.11 crore, had been seized.

The department also suspended the licence of 215 dealers, registered 63 cases under Clause 6A, and filed six FIRs. The licence of five dealers had been cancelled, he added.
