KIDAPAWAN CITY — At least eight localities in Cotabato suspended classes on Thursday due to heavy to moderate rains brought by the southwest monsoon (habagat).

In the towns of Antipas and Banisilan, classes in all levels were suspended due to heavy downpour. Last Monday,  Antipas was also battered by heavy rains, resulting in flash floods and landslides in some of its villages.

On the other hand, the towns of Mlang, President Roxas, Alamada, Matalam and Makilala implemented clustered class cancellations.

The city government here ordered class suspensions Thursday afternoon in both public and private schools due to heavy rains, and for village officials to closely monitor possible flood and landslide incidents. /coa
