A man accused of murdering a 26-year-old woman at his automobile workshop at Elathur seven months ago was found dead on Friday (August 13), days before the trial in the case was scheduled to begin.
Vaisakhan, a resident of Thadampattuthazham, was out on bail following a High Court order.
The 34-year-old had been arrested by the Elathur police in connection with the death of the woman who was reportedly in a relationship with him. She was found dead inside his workshop at Malikkadavu on January 24.
The police had initially termed the death a case of suicide. However, subsequent investigation led to Vaisakhan’s arrest on charge of murder. The two were reportedly in a relationship for several years, and the woman had been pressing Vaisakhan to marry her, they said.
